J/70 Lake Wednesday Nights
This year 30 boats are expected to participate in the Wednesday evening J/70 racing on Lake Washington.

Protection Island Race
The first of Seattle Yacht Club’s Tri Island Series which could be the longest running sailboat race in the Pacific Northwest. The first contest was held in 1912. This year, three courses are offered: 1) Long, 92 miles around Protection Island and back, 2) Short, 40 miles around the Double Bluff Buoy and back, and 3) Racer/Cruiser, 30 miles around the Scatchet Head Buoy and back. Boats of all sizes are pushed to the limit sailing through a wide range of wind and tide conditions and often into the night.

Riptide Rendezvous
Jonathan McKee and the Riptide owners are pulling together an impressive fleet of Riptides. Make sure not to miss this once in a lifetime event. (April 27, 2 PM, CYC Seattle)

Race to the Straits
This will be the 24th edition of the two day event that takes double handed boats from Shilshole Bay Marina to Port Townsend on Saturday, and back on Sunday. It is a great way to get 75 miles in without having to sail at night. The on shore social activities in Port Townsend during the layover are legendary. The staggered starts make sure everyone arrives at about the same time.

Vashon Island Race
The SYC Tri Island Series continues with the 50th running of the 56 mile (long course) race around Vashon Island. A short course, 40 miles to Pt Robinson and back, and a 20 mile Racer/Cruiser course, around Blakely Rock and the Duwamish Head Light and back are also offered. Most boats finish before dark, but the long course time limit is 19 hours, so it is possible to be racing after midnight.

Swiftsure
The Swiftsure International Yacht Race is the premier long distance sailing race in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia area. Starting and ending in Victoria, BC, Canada, the Swiftsure is international because the midpoint markers for the four long courses are in U.S. waters. Organized by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, the race occurs during the Memorial Day weekend in May with staggered starts on Saturday morning. The race is most popular with sailors from British Columbia and Washington, but it has drawn boats from as far away as California, Hawaii, New Zealand, and even Russia.

VanIsle 360
The Van Isle 360 is a biennial, 580 nautical mile point-to-point race circumnavigating wild and rugged Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Sailed in ten legs, the course provides inshore, offshore and overnight sailing through some of the most stunning and challenging waters on the planet.

Blake Island Race
The final event of the Tri Island series running in its 50th anniversary year takes sailors 25 miles from Shilshole Bay around Blake Island and back. An alternate course of 12 miles for Racer/Cruisers to Blakely Rock and back is also offered.

2025 J/70 US National Championships Mixed Plus
The J70s, the fastest growing one design keelboat class in the world, brings its mixed plus national championship to Seattle. the J70 has a four person crew, and no more than two crew members can be male in this event - for terrific gender parity. The event will feature three days of racing on Puget Sound, hosted Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle.

Grand Prix XLVIII
Seattle Yacht Club is running the 48th Grand Prix this year. This is the season championship for all fleets of boats sailing under handicap rules (IRC, ORC, PHRF) and One Design Classes with 5 or more entrants. Races will take place on Puget Sound adjacent to Shilshole Bay Marina.

PNW One Design Regatta (POD)
The start of the One Design calendar hosted by Corinthian Yacht Club at Shilshole Bay Marina.

J/24 World Championships 2024
The 2024 J/24 World Championship, was organized by the Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle, the International J/24 Class Association, and the U.S. J/24 Class Association, and hosted by the Beechers Handmade Cheese. 56 boats from ten countries competed, including multiple national- and world champion-winning skippers and teams. Racing was contested on the waters of Puget Sound, adjacent to Shilshole Bay Marina with sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains to the west, Mount Rainier to the south, and Mount Baker to the north. Travis Odenbach, of Rochester, NY and his team on Honeybadger took home the top honor, followed by Mike Ingham, and Kohei Ichikawa.
